What is hybrid work?
Hybrid working is a model that offers employees the flexibility to work from anywhere, i.e. it is a combination of teleworking and traditional face-to-face work in the office.
Organizations can set times and dates when employees are expected to work in the office, or they can give employees complete autonomy when it comes to choosing when and where to work.
Hybrid working models
Within hybrid work we can find some models that can be adopted by companies and their employees.
Flexible
A flexible hybrid working model gives employees a great deal of freedom, allowing them to set their own schedules with a combination of remote and face-to-face days in the way that works best for them.
For example, if you need to dedicate time to a project, you can choose to work remotely. If you need to meet with your team, take part in a training session or attend a meeting, you can choose to go to the office.
Fixed
The fixed hybrid work model has more restrictions. In this model, an organization defines the face-to-face and remote schedules for its hybrid employees.
For example, it could be that certain teams come into the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, while others go on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Or you could define the days that allow everyone to work remotely.
Office-oriented
An office-oriented approach prioritizes face-to-face work over teleworking. Employees in this model spend most of their working days in the office and some days teleworking.
Teleworking-oriented
On the other hand, a teleworking-oriented model prioritizes teleworking over face-to-face work. In this approach, face-to-face work may be limited to one or two days a week or month.
